Army / Waffen SS Cloth German Cross in Gold by Hermann Schmuck & Cie.

The German Cross in Gold is on the field gray wool base for wear on the uniforms of Army or Waffen SS personnel. The central area exhibits soiling, with age verdigris visible on the brass center ring. The reverse paper backing is largely intact, bearing the manufacturer stamp of the firm of Hermann Schmuck & Cie. The absence of visible stitch holes suggests that the decoration was never sewn on a uniform. Overall very good condition, with a very small hole in the field gray base at the edge between two of the points.
