Allgemeine SS Marching Drum RZM M10/21/41

A marching drum (“Kleine Trommel”) used by the Allgemeine and Waffen SS marching band formations. The metal body is stamped with “SS” runes above the RZM manufacturer code of “M10/21/41”. The subdued darkened copper bands are held in place with five 6 3/4″ bolts. The top drum head is split while the bottom head is intact. The painted black and white geometric pattern that decorated the drum bands on the top and bottom have apparently worn off over the passage of time. The three hole attachment for securing the carrying harness remains in place on the drum. The drum is approximately 15 inches  (38 cm) in diameter and 5 3/4 inches high. I have shown an internet photograph of an Allgemeine SS band, showing this type of marching drum in use.
