The group is comprised of the souvenirs of a United States Marine who participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The group includes a maroon cloth brassard with snap closures and on which are fastened multiple pieces of insignia; an Iraqi Police “IP” brassard: two 25 Dinars pieces of currency, showing use; an unopened pack of Iraqi cigarettes; an Iraqi table medal, approximately 2-1/2 inches in diameter; the slip-on rank insignia of a senior Iraqi Army officer; a U.S. military issue “Cultural Smart Card” for Iraq; a 2003 U.S. Marine Corps card for the Marine who collected the souvenirs, along with an air mail envelope sent by him with his name and return military address; a small bottle of Tobasco sauce, commonly used by troops to spice up their MRE meals; and an Iraqi flag, multi piece construction, approximately 24 inches by 33 inches, and signed by fellow Marines, including one who noted the owner’s apparent proclivity for collecting (and selling) souvenirs.
