A 1943 Letter in Which General Mark Clark Sends Souvenir German Insignia to an American in the USA

$450.00

The letter is dated December 3, 1943, and it is approximately 6 inches by 8 inches. Within the letter General Clark writes that he is sending the recipient “the insignia of a German aircraft mechanic” in response to his request for “some souvenir of the war”. The letter is on the stationary of the Office of the Commanding General of the Fifth Army Headquarters and it is signed in full in ink by General Clark. The letter shows age toning and fold lines but it is complete and intact, with the insignia having been pasted to the stationary.  The letter is accompanied by the mailing envelope, also bearing the printed designation of the Office of the Commanding General of the Fifth Army Headquarters on the reverse side and the envelope further bears a second full signature of General Clark in ink on the obverse. Overall very good condition.
