1943 Naval Appointment Signed by Admiral Donitz with Willrich Portrait Postcard

The document is on the watermarked letterhead of the Supreme Commander of the Kriegsmarine. Dated 26 March, 1943, it was sent to Herrn Friedrich Moll and appointed him to the position of Marine Director in the German Naval Administration: “Auf Grund der Ernennungsurkunde von 26 Marz 1943 weise ich Sie mit Wirkung von 1 Januar 1943 an in die Stelle eines Marineintendanturrats in der Marineverwaltung ein” (“On the basis of the certificate of appointment of 26 March 1943, with effect from 1 January 1943, I appoint you to the position of Marine Director in the Naval Administration”). The document bears the large, clear signature “Donitz”. The document is approximately 8 1/4 by 11 1/2 inches and in very good condition. The document is accompanied by a period postcard with a color portrait of Donitz by Willrich. The postcard is approximately 4 by 5 3/4 inches and it is in very good condition.
