1943 Hermann Goring Division Afrika Korps Prisoner of War Carved Wooden Dagger

The wooden dagger was carved in the style of a North African “Kindjal” blade. The wooden dagger bears the designation of “Kriegsgefangenschaft”, or “War Captivity”, and the title of “Div. H.G.”, for the Luftwaffe Hermann Goring Division. The carved dagger also bears the names of multiple battles and areas whee the Division fought in North Africa. Approximately 16 inches in length. There is a chip to the “guard” on one side of the top of the dagger, as well as a chip to one side of the base of the “scabbard”.
