1943 Dated Security Poster by Schlaikjer: “…and Bless Those Back Home Who, Knowing of Our Sailing…”

Approximately 19-7/8 inches by 28 inches. The poster was never folded and so it has no fold lines. The artwork illustrates a United States Navy Captain (who wears a World War I Victory Medal ribbon) at the railing of a ship, binoculars around his neck. Behind him, troops are assembled on the dock. The artwork was done by Jens Wilhelm Schlaikjer, who produced posters during the war that are considered to be among the most impressive examples of poster art in the war. The poster has bright colors and it is in excellent condition.
