1942 Dated Production Poster: “Don’t Let Him Down!”

The poster is approximately 30 inches by 40 inches. The poster shows the usual fold lines, and it has some edge crumpling and edge tears, with a small piece missing from the lower corner. Regardless, the poster is quite impressive. The poster is signed “Beall” (for artist Lester Beall) and is one of the more artistically designed and visually striking of the American posters of World War II, so much so that an example of the poster is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and in the collection of the U.S. Navy’s Naval History and Heritage Command .
