1942 Dated K98 Bayonet by WKC

The bayonet ricasso bears the date of “42” and the code of “cvl”, reflecting manufacture by the firm of WKC. The opposite side has the serial number of “8005”. The scabbard throat has the date of “42” and the code of “cof”, reflecting production by the firm of Carl Eickhorn. The scabbard bears serial number “1227”. The finish on the blade shows only minor wear. The grip plates are without chips or cracks. The finish on the pommel and on the guard is intact, showing age and patina. The pommel has waffen amt markings. The scabbard exhibits a layer of grime but appears to retain most of its finish and has a small dent near the stud.
