1939 Large Silver Luftwaffe Presentation Tray

The large silver tray is approximately 15 inches in diameter. The reverse bears hallmarks and the silver designation of “830S”, a German silver content mark indicating 830 parts silver out of 1000. The obverse side of the tray is engraved with a drop tail Luftwaffe eagle and the inscription of “Des Beamten des L.G.K. XI Ihrem Scheidenden Luftkreisintendanten Hannover Den 1 Juni 1939” (“The officials of the L.G.K. XI [Luft Gau Kommando XI] to our outgoing air district director”. The reverse side has an old typed label with cellophane tape that contains information about Luft Gau Kommando XI. The tray shows a few minor scratches, but it is in excellent condition, with an uncleaned patina.
