The black paint on the iron core shows age and verdigris, but it is intact. The silver frame exhibits an uncleaned patina. The medal is accompanied by a long length of ribbon with a period safety pin affixed to one end. The medal is with the manufacturer envelope of the firm of Jakob Bengel of Oberstein. The envelope shows age and a few edge tears. Overall the set is in very good condition.
