1939 Iron Cross Second Class Marked “44” (Jakob Bengel)

The Iron Cross is in excellent condition, showing some minor wear to the black paint on the iron core, primarily to the surface of the swastika. The silver frame has a dark and uncleaned patina. The suspension ring bears an LDO maker code that is not entirely distinct but which appears to be “44”, reflecting production by the firm of Jakob Bengel.
