The typed document states “Überreicht als Anerkennung für die im Jahre 1937 für die Deutsche Arbeitsfront geleistete ehrenamtliche Mitarbeit” (“Presented in recognition of voluntary work performed for the German Labor Front in the year 1937”). The document is dated “Weihnachten 1937.” (“Christmas 1937″). The document has a circular ink stamp for the “Deutsche Arbeitsfront • Kreis Stormarn • Gau Schleswig-Holstein”. The document is signed by “Der Kreisobmann der DAF.” (“The district chairman of the DAF”). The bottom corner has the handwritten name of “Elsa Meggersen”, presumably the recipient of the document.
