1936 Olympic Games Gau Bayern-Ostmark DDAC Automobile Club Car Plaque

The gilt plaque is approximately 3 1/8 inches long by 2 1/8 inches wide, with an enamel DDAC eagle and swastika, enamel lettering, and an enamel “1936” date. There has been some loss of enamel to the letter “P” in the word “Olympia”. The plaque carries the engraved wording of “In Anerkennung fur Sportliche Leistungen im Olympia-Jahr 1936. Gewidmet Vom DDAC Gau 11 Bayer. Ostmark” (“In recognition of sporting achievements in the Olympic year 1936. Dedicated by the DDAC Gau 11 Bayer. Ostmark”). The plaque had two screws on the reverse for mounting onto an automobile dashboard. One screw was removed almost completely, while the other screw was partially removed.
