1935 House of German Art Program Signed by Adolf Hitler
$1,550.00
The program for a ceremony on 29 June of 1935 to commemorate the “topping off” (“Richtfestes”) of the construction of the House of German Art in Munich. The ceremony was obviously attended by Adolf Hitler and a participant in the ceremony had Hitler sign the first page of the program. The program was later acquired by an American soldier serving in Germany on occupation duty.
The program is approximately 6 1/4 inches square. It is printed on heavy rag paper, bound with a red and white ribbon. The top of the first page bears the signature of Adolf Hitler, signed boldly with a dark blue pencil. On the cover of the program is written “Property of D.M. Fortin 31462554”. This was Donald M. Fortin, who enlisted in the Army in October of 1945. The program consists of a front and back cover with 3 interior pages, one of which was left blank. The program exterior has a few spots, as well as a small tear on the cover, but the interior, and in particular the Hitler signature, are in excellent condition.
