1932 Dated Japanese Army EM/NCO Visor Cap

$350.00

The high quality cap is constructed of olive green wool with a red cap band. The body of the cap shows some tracking to the top surface, but generally the cap is very clean, and without holes, stains, or damage. The surface of the visor lacks the age crazing so often seen with Japanese visor caps. The chin strap is in place across the visor. The interior shows the full leather sweatband in place, with the punched number “6” (or, perhaps, “9”). The interior lining is complete, with an issue stamp having the date of 1932, and with handwriten kanji, almost certainly the name of the soldier who owned and wore the cap. Overall the cap shows only light wear and minimal signs of age, and it represents an exceptional example of the early Showa period Japanese Army enlisted ranks visor cap.
