1924 Dated Model 1913 U.S. Army “Patton” Cavalry Saber by L.F. & C.

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 43 inches, with a blade length of approximately 35 inches. The blade is generally very clean, with some typical spots, scratches, and a barely visible nick to the cutting edge on one side near the point. The ricasso bears the maker mark of Landers, Frary & Clark (“L.F. & C.”) with the date of 1918 on one side, while the opposite side has the “U.S.” mark and the date of 1924. The composition grip is without chips or cracks. The finish on the basket guard, knuckle bow, back strap, pommel, and scabbard fittings shows age and wear but it is largely intact. A leather sword knot is tied to the guard. The fabric covering on the scabbard has wear and age soiling but it is complete and intact. Overall the sword is in excellent lightly used condition.
