1916 Dated Named Imperial German Air Service Major’s Tunic
$4,250.00
The field gray tunic is piped in black on he collar and cuffs, while the front placket and skirt are piped in red. The collar tabs are red, piped in black. The shoulders carry the rank boards of a Major, with the boards bearing the metal winged propeller insignia of the Air Service. The upper left breast has four loops for a ribbon or medal bar. On the lower left breast are two sets of loops for the wear of medals or badges. The lower left breast bears a Wound Badge in black, which is an example bearing a ray back interior. The wound badge is pinned through the material of the tunic. The ribbon of the 1914 Iron Cross, Second Class, is sewn into the second buttonhole. The tunic has an interior pocket that was created by sewing a suede square into the interior, and the interior of the tunic also has a tailor’s label which is named and dated 1916. The tunic shows signs of wear, and there are a few small holes, most noticeably on the upper left sleeve, but overall the tunic makes an excellent appearance.
