1915 Dated Prussian 2nd Foot Guards Regiment Pickelhaube
$625.00
The leather pickelhaube shows typical scuffs and age crazing, but the helmet retains a very good shape and it makes a fine appearance. There is some loss of stitching to the front visor, but the visor remains secure on the helmet. The front of the helmet displays a guard regiment eagle helmet plate which lacks the guard star, with the interior dome of the helmet having the unit stamp of the 2nd Foot Guards Infantry Regiment. The helmet plate is lacking one of the attachment loops behind one wing. The interior also has the size stamp of “56”, and the manufacturer stamp which bears a date of 1915. The front of the helmet has two sets of holes for the mounting of the helmet plate. The helmet plate, as well as the brass front visor trim, the brass spike and base, and the brass rear spine, all show a dark and uncleaned patina. The helmet has both Prussian colors and national colors cockades. The leather chin strap is broken and only partially present. The full interior liner is intact. Overall very good used condition.
