18th – Early 19th Century American Infantry Hanger

An impressive example of an American infantry hanger, circa 1790-1805. The double fullered blade is approximately 28 inches long, with the sword having an overall length of 34 inches. The sword has a faceted, hexagonal brass pommel above a spiral turned walnut grip and with a brass stirrup guard. The blade exhibits the typical graying but there are no nicks, chips, or active rust. Overall a splendid early American sword.
