Gray wool spiked helmet as worn by the 7th New York Infantry Regiment with a musician’s helmet plate bearing the regimental number 7. Horn side buttons are in place retaining a patent leather chin strap. The helmet has a few spots on the exterior, with some wear to the patent leather trim and some very tiny evidence of mothing beneath one of the side buttons. The interior shows wear but overall the helmet is quite clean, both inside and out.
