The blade has typical spots and mossy areas, while still showing a generally clean and bright surface. The spine is arsenal marked and dated 1873. The brass grip exhibits an uncleaned patina. The guard and scabbard throat have matching numbers. Both the ricasso and the quillon have multiple proof marks. The blued finish on the scabbard is essentially intact with a few minor areas of roughness.
