Non-dug, very good example of this well-made, two-piece convex button manufactured and dated 1861 by W.G. Mintzer of Philadelphia. measuring 1 inch. This features the state arms on the face- three pillars supporting an arch bearing the word “Constitution,” with the pillars wrapped “Wisdom,” “Justice,” and “Moderation.” Depressed channel on the reverse, bearing in raised letters, “(Star) W.G. Mintzer Phila 1861. The shank is in place; no dents or dings to the face or back; very nice condition. Albert’s GA2; Tice GA203A1.
