152nd Airborne Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion Japanese Made Bullion Patch

A mint, unused example of the “red base variant” of this Japanese made patch for the 152nd Airborne Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion of the 11th Airborne Division. Other examples of the patch were embroidered on a dark blue base (even though the branch color of the artillery is red). The patch was made for the men of the unit during their Occupation of Japan and reflects the highest quality of workmanship that characterizes Japanese bullion embroidery, with high relief definition of the bullion embroidery on a red wool base. The patch measures approximately 4 1/4 inches long by 3 1/2 inches wide in the lower half. The patch exhibits some mild age toning of the bullion, but otherwise it is in mint, unused condition.
