11 Early 20th Century Aviation History Plates

A group of 11 porcelain plates, each about 9 3/4 inches in diameter. The plates are numbered 1 through 12 (plate number 7 is missing), and each plate features the image of an aviation pioneer and an aviation device, whether a balloon, zeppelin, or airplane (and plate number 1 is actually the mythical Icarus with his home made wings). The plates date from circa the early 20th century and are manufacturer marked on the back by the European firm of Digoin & Sarreguemines. A few of the plates show minor chips buy overall the plates make a very good impression.
