Imperial German Triple Etched Prussian Mining Officer Sword

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 36 1/2 inches. The guard and back strap are plain and have a dark, uncleaned patina. The langet displays a detailed Prussian crown and the crossed miner’s hammer and mallet emblem of the mining association. The plated blade is triple etched with both floral and military designs as well as with crossed hammers, with the blade having dark spots and areas of surface rust. The ray skin grip is triple wrapped with wire. The leather scabbard appears to have shrunk, and the sword does not completely sit within the scabbard, extending approximately 3/4 of an inch above the scabbard throat. The scabbard is complete and intact.
