Cased 1939 Iron Cross First Class with Stickpin Marked “16” (Alois Rettenmaier)

The slightly vaulted 1939 Iron Cross first class has excellent paint to the iron core and uncleaned patina on the silver frame. The pin bears the Prasidialkanzlei manufacturer code number of “16”, reflecting production by the firm of Alois Rettenmaier of Schwäbisch Gmünd (located in the German state of Baden-Württemberg). The Iron Cross stickpin bears the LDO code of L/11, indicating manufacture by the firm of Wilhelm Deumer of Ludenscheid. The interior of the case shows some soiling from age, while the exterior of the case exhibits only some scuffing and minor edge wear.
