Luftwaffe Flak Artillery EM/NCO Visor Cap “Lyon France”

The cap is constructed of a blue gray ribbed wool blend material on the cap body with a black mohair cap band, both piped in red for the flak artillery. The cap has a fine saddle shape and, while it shows wear, it is without distracting spots, tears, or holes. The interior has the full celluloid sweat shield which is maker marked. Inserted into the sleeve for the owner’s name is a slip of paper bearing the notation “Lyon France”, likely the location where the cap was taken as a souvenir. The interior leather sweat band has a small tear. The cap is marked as a size 55. Interestingly, the front peak of the cap carries an aluminum army eagle rather than a Luftwaffe eagle, but there is no shadow on the material to indicate that another eagle was ever on the cap. Overall very good condition.
