WWII Imperial Manchuko Non Commissioned Officer Sword
$650.00
The sword is the “Grade 1” style sword for non commissioned officers of the Manchuko Imperial Army. The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 35 1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 25 inches. The machined blade is fairly bright, with some gray areas and some spots of pitting. The grip is leather over wood, wrapped with brass wire, and with the upper three segments of the grip showing loss of leather. The lower ferrule area has a release button, although the actual latch beneath the guard is broken and no longer present, none of which affects the smooth insertion in, or removal of, the sword from the scabbard. The brass back strap exhibits crossed Manchuko flags, while the top and sides of the back strap exhibit Manchuko plum blossoms. The toned gold cord and tassel that was used to serve as the knuckle bow on this style of sword is in place and it is complete and intact. The steel scabbard shows age toning and one or two small dings that do not affect the scabbard. Overall very good condition.
