Uncleaned Early Army Officer Service Dagger by Holler with Distributor Marked Blade

The blade has a number of dark spots and smudges on both sides, although it is straight with a sharp point and has visible crossgrain. The obverse side bears the Vienna distributor name of “Militarwarenhaus / Dürbeck / Wien IX” on three lines. The reverse ricaso carries the thermometer trademark and name of the Holler firm. The celluloid grip is a dark orange and the grip is without chips or cracks. The pommel and eagle guard have excellent detail, as does the scabbard. All of the components of the dagger are uncleaned and untouched, with a dark patina and showing brighter spots at the top of the scabbard where the scabbard throat was shielded from the air by the guard. On original portepee is tied around the dagger grip, showing some fraying at the spots where the cords cross over each other.
