1906 Dated Model 1904 Marine Corps EM/NCO Visor Cap by Horstmann

The center front of the cap has an enamel grommet for attachment of a screw back eagle, globe and anchor insignia. The insignia presently on the cap is the silver colored eagle, globe and anchor, and two prongs on the reverse secure it to the front of the cap. The leather visor shows age crazing, as does the chin strap, which is secured by Marine Corps side buttons. The exterior is quite clean, showing storage dust but without holes or stains. The interior leather sweatband shows wear but it is complete and intact. The underside of the sweatband in front bears the stamp of the Horstmann Company of Philadelphia with a contract date of July, 1906.
