1915 Jaeger Zu Pferde Regiment 8 Helmet by C.E. Junker
$2,250.00
A helmet worn by a member of the 8th Jaeger Zu Pferde Regiment, unit marked on the rear rim and manufacturer marked in the dome by the firm of C.E. Junker. The helmet is in blued steel –
with most original finish intact, tombak fittings and gilt wappen eagle front plate. The “fish scale” chin straps are dark with uncleaned patina. The helmet is lacking the cockades. The spike is secured by a clover leaf base and, interestingly, the four domed rivets are secured inside of the helmet by screws of slightly different lengths. The leather liner is present, although lacking its draw string. The exterior of the helmet has some minor dings and indentations as typically found on the steel helmets that are now over 100 years old, but overall the helmet is quite impressive and is in very good untouched condition.
