General Feldmarschall Hermann Goring Brand Cigar Box

The box for a brand of cigars named “General Feldmarschall”, distributed by the firm of “Otto Boenicke” in Berlin. The interior of the lid features a splendid color rendering of Hermann Goring in the uniform of a Luftwaffe Field Marshal, with color renderings of his Field Marshal’s baton used as a repeating decorative motif on the box. This box would have only been used for a relatively short period of time during the Third Reich. Goring was made a Field Marshal in 1938 and, less than two years later, was named to the post of “Reich Marshal”, at which time the Otto Boenicke firm changed both the name of the cigar and the artwork, with the boxes now showing Goring in his uniform as Reich Marshall and with the Reich Marshal batons used as a decorative motif. The lid of the box is separated from the box itself, but the box is complete and in good condition.
