Imperial Saxon 12th Jaeger Battalion Officer Frock Coat

An Imperial Saxon officer’s frock coat worn by a Captain in the 12th Jaeger Battalion. The coat is a high quality dark green wool with red collar and red facings on the interior lapels. There is a large, albeit worn, custom tailor’s label in the interior neck. The sewn in officer’s shoulder boards are silver brain with an interwoven green “V” design, topped by gilt pips and gilt battalion numbers. The deep turn back cuffs are piped in red. On the left breast of the coat are loops for a medal bar, approximately 3 inches apart, likely reflecting the wear of a bar with three medals or decorations. One button is missing from the lower breast. The coat shows some degree of wear and use but is in overall exceptional condition.
