19th Infantry Regiment Veterans Schellenbaum Banner
$575.00
The embroidered drape from the top of a schellenbaum carried by the association of veterans of the 19th (2nd Posen) Infantry Regiment “von Courbire”. The drape is approximately 11 3/4 inches wide by 10 inches long, excluding the fringe. The drape itself is golden yellow wool with embroidered lettering on the obverse and a chain stitched imperial eagle with the metal gilt number “19” on its chest. The reverse displays the chain stitched imperial cypher of Kaiser Wilhelm the first. There are areas of mothing to both the obverse and reverse but their effects are reduced by the fact that the interior lining of the drape, which is visible through the holes, is also a golden color. A brass rod with a suspension loop is inside of the drape across the top. There is a single golden yellow tassel still with the drape, of the two which originally hung from each end of the top bar. The drape has very nice color and impressive embroidery.
