Early SA Dagger by G.L. Koller Nachf. with Group Pommern Mark
$525.00
The dagger blade is rather cloudy, though some burnishing remains within the motto. The blade exhibits scratches as well as spots of corrosion to the plated surface. The reverse ricasso bears the trade mark of G.L Koller Nachf. of Solingen. The medium brown wood grip has a small vertical chip directly above the SA runes button. The wood grip has one closed crack that runs from the lower front crossguard upwards to the wing of the grip eagle, being approximately 1 1/2 inches long. The grip shows anther closed crack on the obverse that runs from the upper edge of the wing of the grip eagle to the runes button, approximately 1 3/4 inches in length. The grip otherwise exhibits the typical minor indentations resulting from carrying wear. The grip eagle is a earlier nickel silver example with fine detail. There is wear to the dagger grip around the edges of the eagle. The grip fits the upper and lower crossguards quite tightly. The reverse of the lower guard bears the “P” mark of SA Group Pommern. The guards exhibit some surface corrosion. The SA runes button is straight and without chips or cracks. The brown finish of the anodized scabbard is largely intact. The lower scabbard fitting shows corrosion to the fitting, primarily on the back side.
