Third Reich Police Gendarmerie Uniform

An exceptional uniform for a Revier-Oberleutnant of the Third Reich rural police, the Gendarmerie. The uniform is comprised of an officer tunic in high quality ribbed wool in the distinctive police blue-green color, together with matching breeches and an officer visor cap. The tunic displays the orange Gendarmerie officer collar tabs and shoulder boards of bright silver braid on a brown and orange base, indicating the rank of Revier-Oberleutnant. The left sleeve carries a fine silver bullion police eagle. The jacket has two loops for a rather long ribbon bar and a set of loops on the pocket for a single badge. The matching breeches have zippers on the lower legs. The visor cap has a high peak and a fine saddle shape. The interior of the cap bears a size tag of “57” and the brown oil cloth lining is impressed with the name of the well known cap manufacturer of “Peter Kupper”. The breeches have a few faint spots on the seat but, aside from that, the uniform and cap are in extremely fine condition, showing little evidence of wear and very little evidence of age. Neither the uniform nor the hat have any holes, tears, or moth damage. Overall a wonderful set in extremely impressive condition.
