Unit Marked 1939 Luftwaffe EM/NCO Flak Visor Cap
$550.00
An exceptionally clean and very impressive Luftwaffe visor cap for an enlisted man or NCO of flak artillery. The cap was manufactured in 1939 by the firm of Clemens Wagner and is so marked on the stiff celluloid sweat shield, along with the size of 57. The cap is unit marked underneath the leather sweat band to “I/Flak-Regiment 26”. This unit was at the West Wall in 1939; saw combat in France in 1940; was then engaged in action in Russia beginning in 1941; it was ultimately destroyed in July of 1944 at Bobruisk in eastern eastern Belarus and was not re-formed. The cap is constructed of blue wool whipcord material with red piping. A few stitches at one end of the visor have given way, but the visor remains securely on the cap. The cap has a very clean exterior and interior, showing only light use and wear, and it remains in a very impressive condition.
