WWII RAD Labor Service M42 Single Decal Combat Helmet
$1,200.00
An M42 combat helmet worn by a member of the Reichsarbeitsdeinst, or Reich Labor Service. Members of the RAD served in or near the front lines of combat during the war in an auxiliary combat capacity until, later in the war, six RAD combat divisions were formed to defend the German homeland. This M42 has dark gray green combat paint that is approximately 90% intact. The exterior has some spots and scuffs but it is almost uniformly the dark gray green paint scheme of a combat helmet. On the right side is the single borderless decal of the RAD. The decal is approximately 90% intact. The interior leather liner is present but it is extremely worn and dry. It has a number of tears and lacks the drawstring but it is relatively complete, if fragile. The helmet is marked “ckl 64” in the interior rear rim, indicating a large, size 64, helmet shell that was manufactured by the firm of Eisenhuttenwerke in Thale. The chin strap is missing. A scarce Third Reich combat helmet in very good combat-used condition.
