Rare WWI US Officer Armband for the Paris Peace Commission

A pale blue silk armband, approximately 3 inches wide and 14 inches long, with an embroidered scales within a laurel wreath, executed in gold bullion. The armband is itself carefully sewn to a piece of mustard brown blanket wool, giving it overall dimensions of 5 inches by 16 inches. This armband would have been worn by a U.S. Army officer who was attached to the proceedings of the Paris Peace Commission, which established the terms of the pace at the end of World War I. Excellent condition.
