Third Reich SA Service Dagger RZM M7 / 27 by Puma

The dagger is in overall excellent condition. The blade is quite bright, with dark burnishing intact in the motto. There is visible cross grain on the blade, with only relatively light runner marks. The reverse ricasso bears the RZM designation M7 / 27, reflecting manufacture by the firm of Pumawerk (Lauterjung & Sohn), of Solingen. The grip is a dark red brown color, and it has a few minor abrasions which have resulted in small spots where the surface lacquer on the grip is gone, but the grip as a whole is free of chips or cracks and shows only minor carrying wear. The enamel SA runes button is also without chips or cracks. There are tiny specks or loss of plating on the edges of the guards, but these are not particularly noticeable. The dark brown finish of the scabbard is approximately 95% intact. Attached to the scabbard ring is the brown leather dagger hanger, the clip of which is marked RZM M5 / 71, indicating manufacture by Overhoff & Cie. of Lüdenscheid, and the hanger clip also bears the firm’s trademark (often seen on SS officer belt buckles) of “O / C” within a diamond.
