WWII German K98 Combat Bayonet by Elite-Diamantwerk with Matching Numbers Dated 1936

The ricasso bears the manufacturing code of “S/185”, indicating production by Elite-Diamantwerk, Siegmar-Schönau bei Chemnitz. The opposite ricasso bears the number “3064 i”, with that same number also stamped into the scabbard throat. The manufacturing date of “36” is stamped into the spine of the blade. The blued blade is in excellent condition, with the bluing being approximately 95% intact. The dark brown Bakelite grip plates show wear and carrying marks but they are without chips or cracks. The back strap has some small scattered dents. The blued pommel and guard show wear but the finish is largely intact. The pommel shows waffen amt marks. The scabbard shows field wear but the blued finish continues to look good. The black leather frog remains in place. The frog is dry but it is complete and intact. The back of the frog is manufacturer marked and dated 1939.
