First Pattern Japanese Navy Combat Helmet Cover

$2,400.00

The first pattern padded cover for the Type 90 combat helmet, this example bearing the multi piece wool insignia of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The cover was obviously worn on a helmet in a theater of combat. The exterior of the cover has stains and soiling. The interior has a number of small spots caused by the rust that developed on the helmet shell under tropical condition. The rear of the exterior has a separation of about 4 inches which on the interior side is 1 inch in length (exactly the sort of development that led to the introduction of the 2nd pattern cover, which had a reinforced edge). The adjustment cord is present inside the edge of the cover.
