Japanese Army Major General Full Dress Uniform

The full dress World War II period uniform of a Japanese Army Major General (Major Generals in the Japanese Army were one star Generals). The uniform consists of the full dress wool frock coat with heavy gold epaulettes, the striped dress trousers, and the cased dress sash. The uniform reflects the very highest quality of tailoring and construction and it is in truly exceptional condition. The collar displays very heavy gold bullion decoration. Each sleeve carries the intricate and extensive gold braid of a Major General. On the upper front of the coat are long lines of thread loops to hold either a long ribbon bar or a long medal bar. There is also a set of horizontal loops on the front center of the coat, indicating that this General had received an award which included a breast star. The deluxe buttons retain their brilliant fire-gilt finish. The interior of the frock coat is fully lined in black artificial silk, with an interior closure belt. The original white collar liner remains in place. Both the coat and the red striped trousers are in superb condition. The uniform includes the boxed dress sash with large and heavy gold bullion tassels. Overall it is a magnificent uniform set in extraordinary condition.
