Meiji Period Russo-Japanese War Army Cavalry Tunic

A dark blue “Attila” style Army cavalry tunic with golden yellow frogging and shoulder knots. The collar is emerald green. The interior of the tunic has a large issue stamp on the lining which is dated October, 1900, as well as an inspector’s stamp. There are some small scattered holes to the wool but nothing that is particularly distracting. The shoulder knots are sewn to leather straps which slide into loops on the shoulders, and the stitching that holds one set of the knots to the leather strap has partially given way and should be re-sewn. The collar is closed by two hook and eye sets, and on one of these the “eye” loop is missing. This tunic makes a very striking appearance.
