Japanese Type 32 Army Cavalry Sword
$400.00
A Type 32 cavalry saber with an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 36 inches, and with a blade length of approximately 30 inches. The blade is generally bright with typical spots and smudges. The blade is smooth with no chips, cracks, or rust. The ricasso of the blade is numbered and the matching number is stamped onto the drag of the scabbard. The scabbard has a blackened steel finish which shows age but is without dents. There is a wooden tag tied to the latch on the grip which bears the notation of “Rear Car, Wooden, No. 10”. The term “rear car” generally refers to a small cart that is pulled or pushed or perhaps attached to a bicycle, so the presence of the tag on the sword is something of a mystery, unless the “rear car” was used to transport material and weapons and the tag was used to designate the cart in which this sword was to be carried. Overall the sword is in very good condition.
