WWII Japanese Army Officer Shin Gunto Sword
$975.00
The blade is approximately 25 inches long, with an overall length of approximately 37 inches when within the scabbard. The wooden handle is covered in ray skin and wrapped with brown fabric in the traditional fashion. The standard military menuki of three cherry blossoms are beneath the wrap. The sword has a wooden scabbard that is covered with a leather combat cover. There is a decorative brass metal tsuba with a cherry blossom pattern. The blade is steel with no edge nicks and no active rust. Overall the blade is bright and in very good condition. The tang beneath the handle is unsigned. A nice example of a World War II period Japanese Army officer’s sword.
