Tropical Army Officer Field Belt and Buckle

The khaki web belt and olive green officer buckle was introduced by the Army for use by officers in North Africa in early 1941. The belt features the standard army officer belt buckle with closed wing Heer eagle, painted in a matte olive green. The belt is marked as 95 cm in length. There is a manufacturer stamp visible on the belt though it is not readable. The belt is in excellent condition and, in fact, shows relatively little evidence of having been worn, this consisting of indications of use on the leather tongue into which the buckle prongs are placed. There is some toning from use and age on the edges of the web belt. The paint on the buckle is very nearly 100% intact. A very impressive example of this very uncommon belt.
