The long bayonet has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 22-1/2 inches. The blade shows spots and signs of age, but it is generally clean. The ricasso is dated 1907, and it bears the royal cypher of King Edward VII as well as the manufacturer name of Wilkinson. The wood grip plates show age, with a closed crack on one side between the lower bolt and the guard. The guard, the pommel, and the scabbard fittings exhibit a film of light surface rust. The leather scabbard is dry but it is complete and intact.
