The bayonet has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 14 inches long. The blade exhibits some spots but generally the blade is clean and bright. The ricasso bears the maker mark of the firm of F.W. Holler. The leather washer is in place at the top of the blade. The stag grip plates show age and toning but they are without damage. The guard and the pommel show an uncleaned patina, with some speckling of the finish. A red felt insert is present in the rifle slot of the pommel. The scabbard has areas of paint loss.
